The Core to Shore Urban Renewal Project seeks to implement the 2009 voter approved use of the revenues generated by the Oklahoma City Capital Improvements Sales Tax levy to fund the continuation of the Metropolitan Area Projects initiative begun in 1993. The "MAPS 3" program includes a new, large, downtown public park linking Downtown with the Oklahoma River. The Project includes the development of 692 acres of underutilized land, which will be connected to downtown by the relocation of I-40. Public investment is estimated to be over $100 million.
